Nailed It!2 min read

“God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross” (Colossians 2:13b-14 ESV).

A riveting experience for all junior high youth will take place on June 2-4, 2017 in Frankenmuth, Mich. under the theme, “Nailed It!” Based on Colossians 2:13b-14, participants will explore Luther’s emphasis on the authority of God’s Word, their own ability to “nail it” in their daily Christian walk, and the wonderful reality of their salvation through Christ nailing it on our behalf on the cross.

Throughout the weekend, youth will learn how Jesus went to the cross and “nailed it” for them even though we continually fail it and how they can nail it for Him every day of their lives. One of the ways they can hit it on the head is by helping others through servant events which include gardening, singing, interaction with elderly, homeless and needy people, food bank service, and making beaded bracelets for MOST missionaries.

A new feature to the event will be the Gathering’s presence at the Lutheran Grade School State Track Meet, which will be held at Frankenmuth High School on Saturday. State Track Meet Coordinator, Eric Smith says, “Frankenmuth is a wonderful location to pursue two events like the State Track Meet and the Youth Gathering. Both are planned to make a memorable experience for participants and that’s why all track athletes should consider attending the Gathering too!”

A tent, near the track entrance, will be a great place to stop and learn how fellow Christians and track athletes have nailed it as competitors and ambassadors for Christ. Guests of the tent will also participate in servant events by packing personal care bags and making beaded bracelets.

Would you pound home the idea of a weekend in Frankenmuth to your favorite junior high youth? The gathering is a place where they can forge new friendships and join us as we Nail It!
