God Watches Over Us1 min read

Samantha Jones, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bay City, got in the car and started driving her girls to St. Paul school just like she did every morning. Next thing she remembers is that she woke up in the hospital.

It turns out Samantha had a seizure while driving. Her 9-year-old daughter, Jacey, had the presence of mind to climb into the front seat and steer the car away from Westside Saginaw Road (a busy, curvy highway), and into the school parking lot. Once she got the car into the lot, she started driving in circles until another parent saw what was going on and jumped in, putting the car in park and taking the children out.

Rev. Paul Theiss, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church and School and volunteer chaplain for the Michigan State Police, says this is a great example of God’s watching over us. He adds, “Only by God’s grace did Jacey do what she did to protect her family. We are all grateful for His protection and care!”
