Readying for the Reformation with Reading!

Readying for the Reformation with Reading!

One of the great outcomes of the Reformation was the ready availability of the Bible for personal reading. The Reformation was a movement fueled by the Word of God in the hands and the homes of people.

We have come a long way since the 16th century. The Bible has never been more available in formats (hard copy, electronic, sound recording), locations (phone, tablet, computer, earbuds, coffee table) or translations!

A great way to get ready for the celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation is to engage in personal Bible reading. We would like to encourage everyone, but especially students in high school and on college campuses, as well as youth groups, to take on the challenge to read the Bible in one year, knowing this will help craft them into who God has made them to be. Through this Bible reading program, students will grow spiritually, grow closer to Christ, and develop a sense of confidence and peace in the process. The community of student readers can share their experiences by using the hashtag #crafteddaily and also by joining the “Crafted Daily” Facebook group, facilitated by CUAA professor and Pre-Seminary Director Rev. Charles Schulz.

Join the Bible reading movement! Go to the YouVersion Bible app and sign up for the Reformation Reading Plan. We have 4,994 people already participating! This plan will provide you with daily portions of the Scripture, organized in the order of books that most impacted Martin Luther. By following the plan, you will have read through the entire Scripture in a year.

What a great way to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation.
