A Place That Cares2 min read

In 2014, a family that lives nearby attended a neighborhood outreach barbecue at East Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Detroit, Mich. They had never even been in a church before, but they signed up their four boys for all three Gifts for All God’s Children (GFAGC) Summer Bible Camps that year and the next year, too. The boys loved the camps and soon started coming on Sundays. In fall of 2016, the parents enrolled the two youngest boys in the tutoring program.

The oldest boys have been helpers at almost every event and were invited to come to a special fishing charter. The boys learned how to fish and caught lots of fish too! What a day they had!

The two oldest boys are now 15 and 17 and have found jobs for the summer. The two youngest are now 6 and 7 years old and this summer attended the A2E Sports Camp/VBS and Summer Bible Camp. The parents shared that there are many bad influences in their neighborhood, and so they are very grateful for everything that GFAGC and East Bethlehem have done and are doing. They stated: “We have never been to a place that cares so much for our boys!” This family had never seen the love of Christ in action and now has experienced it!

We thank God for providing for this family all year long and for using GFAGC to draw them to Himself! It is because of the efforts of donors and volunteers standing with GFAGC that tutoring, camps, and holiday events happen all year long. The ministry is making a difference! GFAGC seeks your prayers for protection for this family and all the families touched with the love of Christ.
